Paternity & Relationship Testing

Genetic Diagnostic Center (GDC) is pleased to announce its collaborative relationship with DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC), the #1 paternity testing laboratory worldwide to deliver the most accurate and comprehensive DNA testing services to our clients.

DNA Diagnostics Center, also known as DDC, is one of the leading and most highly accredited genetic testing laboratories in the world. We provide comprehensive DNA testing services in four areas: paternity and family relationships; lifestyle testing including ancestry, health and wellness, veterinary, and forensics testing.

For over 20 years, we have been empowering our clients with life-changing information. DDC was founded by Dr. Richard Lee on the belief that the technological advancements in DNA testing should translate into services that are accessible and affordable to everyone. Today, hospitals and clinics, government agencies, the legal community and law enforcement, and consumers from all over the world trust the results from our high quality DNA tests.

What makes us different?

Three things: Our people, Our processes, and Our passion for helping others.

Our People: At GDC, we are dedicated to you. It starts with our client service team that is staffed with highly trained, knowledgeable, and caring professionals. Once your DNA samples arrive at our laboratory, DDC’s outstanding team of scientists, technicians, and PhDs carefully receive, prepare, amplify, sequence, and analyze your DNA to produce reliable results that you can count on for accuracy.

Our Processes: To be an industry leader in genetic testing for over 20 years requires continuous improvement. DDC was the first to adopt robotics technology in its laboratory ensuring highly stringent and efficient handling of DNA samples. The company was recognized by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) for its Dual Process™, in which paternity cheek swab samples are independently tested two times producing results of unmatched quality and reliability. Uncompromising attention to detail and a relentless pursuit of the best processes has earned DDC the reputation as one of the most trusted labs in the world.

Our Passion for Helping Others: At DDC, we love what we do. The results from our DNA testing services change lives for the better. Whether it’s helping a young woman to determine the father of her child, providing irrefutable evidence for an immigrant’s visa petition, or assisting a brother find his sister, our work makes a difference.

Paternity Testing

DNA paternity testing determines the biological father of a child.

We all inherit our DNA from our biological parents — half from our mother and half from our father. A DNA paternity test compares a child’s DNA pattern with that of the assumed father to determine if there is a match. When performed in an experienced, accredited laboratory, it’s the most definitive proof of a biological relationship.

You’ve just discovered you’re expecting. Did you know paternity testing while pregnant is possible, even as early as 7 weeks’ gestation?

Paternity questions during pregnancy can be stressful. DDC’s technologically-advanced Certainty™ Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity Test performed with a strict chain-of-custody process is the first and only prenatal test accredited by the AABB. It gives you accurate paternity answers without any risk to you or the pregnancy— it’s completely safe.

Paternity Testing For Legal Purposes

If you need paternity test results that can be used as a legal document, then a Legal DNA Test must be performed. Some common reasons for a Legal DNA Test include: Child support, Immigration purposes, Court Orders and other legal purposes.

Maternity Testing

Maternity DNA testing determines whether the woman tested is the biological mother of the child tested. It works like a DNA paternity test, except this analysis compares a child’s DNA profile with his/her mother’s. Children inherit half their DNA from their father, and half from their mother. Even if the father is not tested, DDC can prove conclusively whether or not the child’s DNA matches the mother.

Maternity DNA testing is often requested in the following situations:

  • Resolving controversy that sometimes occurs in hospital nurseries
  • Providing life-long peace of mind after returning home from hospital
  • Proving an adoptee’s relationship with his/her biological birth mother
  • Proving a maternal relationship for immigration
  • Confirming accuracy for in-vitro fertilization

Sibling DNA Test

When two people are trying to figure out if they share the same father, and the father is not available to provide a DNA sample, DDC can perform a Sibling DNA Test. This test determines whether two individuals share one or both parents.

If your goal is to establish paternity, and the father is not available for testing, we first recommend a Grandparent DNA Test. If the father’s parents aren’t available, the Sibling DNA Test is an indirect way to determine family relationships, including paternity.

Grandparent DNA Test

If you are trying to confirm if a person is your grandparent or establish paternity, but the father is not available for testing, a Grandparent DNA Test might be right for you.

Grandparent DNA Test results can be used for the same reason as a paternity test:

  • Personal Knowledge (Father not available)
  • Inheritance claims
  • Immigration cases
